The Watermelon White is back, though less watermelony.
The Watermelon White leaves come from seed grown trees that are around 200 years old. They are located in Zhe Rong right outside the border of Fu Ding at around 700m. By white tea standards this puts them at high elevation.
Last year the Watermelon White was very popular for its watermelon rind like flavor. This year the watermelon rind flavor is much subtler. This year though what stands out about this tea is the clean, clear and oily body. This type of tea is often refered to as milk aroma by white tea makers.
These leaves are big and dense and steepings can go on for ever.
