This tea is from Zhe Rong, right outside of Fu Ding, and is made by the Wu Family.
Jin Mu Dan is a cultivar often used for oolong especially in the Wuyi region. In Zhe Ring though it is used for red tea because of its bold characteristics that are easy to achieve during making.
From the first sip you are met with a expanding floral aroma. The aroma is singular, bold and clear, as if a single large flower is opening up.
Below that floral aroma is a deep rich base which is the result of careful charcoal baking. The underlying flavor of the tea is like mahogany, dark and rich with a bit of texture.
Over all this tea is has clear characteristics that can be appriecated by anyone. A bold floral aroma set over a deep rich body.
