In 2017 my friend here in Zhe Rong, Fu Ding, tried to grow his own Tie Guan Yin. He said the tea was actually pretty good but it never really took off. He gave up making oolong, but started using the plants to make red tea (black tea). This is the tea he personally drinks alot and you can see his love for it when he talks about it. The trees are wild as in they are unpruned and organic.
This tea is sharp and clean at the same time. The body is clean and refreshing, but the Tie Guan Yin cultivar gives it some edge and a bit of spice.
