Ive always said if I ever sell then you should try it.
Well here we are.
After years of going to Anxi and meeting and drinking with different makers. (Videos available on youtube) For the first time I am selling a Tie Guan Yin.
This Tie Guan Yin comes from Long Juan and is charcoal roasted. Its rare to have a charcoal roasted tea which is surprising seeing how much depth it adds to the flavor.
The roast is traditional meaning it is light, tasting like brown rice. In Anxi its called rice aroma, 米香. This roast compliments the flavors of the leaf instead of covering it up. This means in this Tie Guan Yin you can taste the Tie Guan Yin acidity but also enjoy the long last floral aroma.
This Tie Guan Yins aroma is also very similar to lightly baked Yan Chas like Qi Lan and has notes of caramlized apples, like what you find in an apple pie.
While not a perfect tea I give this tea a 8/8.5 out of 10 which is still delicious and worth trying if not stocking up on.
