Before Fu Ding was known for white tea it was know for red tea (black tea). Bai Lin Gong Fu had particular fame and recognition. This tea would go on the inspire the makers of Qimen. I've had this tea for a year, but I wanted to better understand this tea to make sure it was quality. After a year of tasting different red tea and talking to makers I'm ready to put this on the website.Â
This is a flavorful tea with out being overly bold. There is a clear woodsy/molasses flavor but also a refreshing body. Its a balanced blend of bold and soft. In later steeps the bold flavors calms down a bit and a floral aroma comes out.Â
Due to the different levels of this tea, this tea can be brewed in a variety of ways.Â
Gong Fu style to bring out the complexity.Â
Grandpa style to bring out more of the floralness.Â
Yixings will benefit from its flavor and aroma.Â
Large tea pot, English style, to get a soft and sweet brew.Â
